• Eric Kash Kash, Nez Perce Biologist, is helping to lead an initiative within the tribe. The Nez Perce had the largest portion of the 2023 Gardiner bison harvest with ~400 bison. The other two top tribes for the bison harvest are the Blackfeet and the Salish Kootenai. 

• The Arthur Blank Foundation covered the cost of thousands of copper rounds for the Nez Perce Gardiner bison hunt in 2023 and also covered Mike McTee to lead a workshop for tribal hunters. 

• Mike McTee, researcher with the MPG Ranch and authored a book called Wilted Wings - a hutner’s fights for eagles, does ballistic workshops for hunters and did one for tribes in Livingston last year on copper ammo. 

• Non-lead ammo voucher program to get free non-lead ammo to hunters 

• Montana $20 hunter voucher for non-lead ammo

• In 2019 California has already banned lead ammo for all wildlife hunting
